Have you been keeping up with all of the royal wedding news? In all honesty, we’re a little addicted. First, it was the wedding invitations. Now, flowers are starting to arrive at St. George’s Chapel for the ceremony Saturday. And there’s the question of Meghan’s dad: will he walk her down the aisle? Was his preparation sincere or staged? We’re on pins and needles.
Despite the intensity of media coverage about her big day, Meghan is still a bride. She still chose the dress, the flowers, and the cake. And, while the couple probably isn’t actually asking for gifts (what do you even buy for someone who has everything, after all) Meghan is probably busy setting up her new home at Kensington Palace. What does an almost-princess register for? We’ve compiled the ultimate list!
Le Creuset Cast Iron Cookware Set ($2,225)
Supposedly Harry proposed over homemade roast chicken, so the royal couple is definitely a pair of cooks. Meghan would want the finest cookware, obviously, and Le Creuset is pretty much the creme de la creme. Luckily for a thrifty bride, this comprehensive set is actually on sale for only $1650! And, while the cast iron pieces come in great bright colors, Meghan is 100% a neutral gal, so she’d obviously choose this sophisticated Oyster grey.
Wilder Dinner Plates ($13)
Even the fanciest people love Crate and Barrel, and while Meghan definitely has access to the finest of fine china, she’ll need a daily set to serve her famous roast chicken upon. We like to think she’d choose something a little different, and the natural shape and texture of this set seem right up her alley. Send them right to the royal wedding, please, as long as they don’t get lost in the mail like our invitations!
Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman- Tobacco ($4960)
The royal family is known for its adherence to a very traditional interpretation of British style. But, the California bride is sure to inject a bit of American cool into her surroundings. This chair is a midcentury classic that has a royal-worthy design pedigree but is much more comfortable and relaxed than the classic antiques the Queen favors.
Mud Cloth Pillow Cover ($75)
Meghan and Harry took several romantic trips to Botswana during their courtship, where they stayed at ultra-glam safari lodges in the bush. Surely Meghan would want to channel that atmosphere in her new home with a nod to traditional handicrafts. Mudcloth is also super popular at the moment, and channels her neutral, relaxed style perfectly.
Border Frame Duvet Cover ($288)
Any new bride needs something to monogram with her new #married name! This classic, luxurious bedding from Serena & Lily is the perfect canvas for Meghan’s new initials. We love how the black border adds a little edge to this luxe hotel-style bedding. And they’re neutral again! She’ll love them.
Muse Dora Maar Vase ($295)
Kensington Palace has famous gardens, so Meghan will surely need somewhere to place all of the lovely blooms. This piece by Jonathan Adler is modern and irreverent, but references the classical styles that are sure to fill the royal residence. We like to imagine Harry stopping by the florist for a bouquet for his new wife, all the better for this stylish accessory.
Crystal Decanter ($125)
Access to the royal wine cellar demands the proper wine accessories. This decanter from Allmodern is sleek and sensuous. It’ll be perfect for all of those times Meghan will be having Will and Kate over for dinner. After all, there’s no need to break out the ancestral crystal for family. Do you think Kate is ready for another royal wedding? She probably needs a glass of wine, tbh.
Lustre Jewelry Box ($595)
While the tiaras and diamond necklaces all have their velvet cases, Meghan definitely needs a place for all of her everyday jewelry. This box from Kelly Wearstler features contour lines from the California coastline, a perfect reminder of home for the American princess. The bronze top also has a soft luster that’s unpretentious but totally beautiful.
